I had a really interesting dining experience in Baguio. We happened to sit at the 50’s Diner which, as the name suggests, features an ambience of the 50’s. It is also notable as being one of the earliest, popular restaurants in Baguio.
The ambience consists of 50’s movie posters framed in the wall, white round incandescent light fill the ceiling with red lights lining each corners,
The waiters wear clothes that of a sailor, Looks more like a Nurse tho.
For Refreshment,i ordered a Mango Shake, it tastes more of a nestle condense milk than a ripe mango. but its probably Good for those people with sweeth tooths :)
However, the main course was most interesting: “Gangsta Gangsta”. This is something I have never had before, it was such a big Serving where in the restaurant is well known of,. The menu description included “THE SHE” which has the description of “Her Legs ,Her arms ,Her body” not mentioning what the meal contains Lol. Altogether, it sounded like a risky order.
I am pleased to report, that I could not have been more wrong. When the Gangsta Gangsta was served, its mainly a mix of a fried chicken, spring rolls,Chopsuey and rice topped with a sunny side up. It was tender, springy, flavored, and moist. The sauce from the Chopsuey was delicious.
And for Dessert, fresh Fruit cuts, served with a sweet cream. Not that impressive but nice presentation
While I highly recommend sampling as much traditional 50’s diner food as you can such as the Extra Large Burgers called 50’s burger, I found 50’s diner a perfect place to have a remarkable dining experience considering Huge proportions of food coming in Affordable Prices. If you are in Baguio for a few days, give it a try. I find myself wanting more..
Budget per person 200-300 Php
