Eve's Garden Review

Lunch at Eve's Garden, This one is a Birthday Treat to me by my two Aunt. Almost everybody is talking about this new and unique restaurant at ME 132 Upper Lamtang Road in La Trinidad that is a bit difficult to find.
We started the ride from the main city to the location of the restaurant it was a peacefull drive with lots of pine trees beside the road and fresh cool air, when we finally arrived luckilly we were the first expected guests of the day, The Owner Ms.Evelyn Greeted us, they presented the menu which is by the way different from any other resto's, why? because you only have to choose between Three, that is the Salmon, Chicken or Beef, its a three course meal, and you are assured that what your eating is healthy and chemical free considering Ms.Eve is a Nutritionist herself. This Restaurant has been so Popular because of its Famous Flower sallad, yup thats right! a flower sallad! it is served with a fresh lettuce. There are 11 varieties of macrobiotic lettuce offered at Eves Garden, Baguio straight from the garden of Eve.

For appetizer we started with the Famous Flower sallad served with fresh cool organic pineapple drink with mint and sage, bubbling at the rim of a gracefully shaped tall glass

I first took a piece of red flower and wrapped it in a lettuce then carefully dipped it in the sauce, the taste was awesome! its something you have never tasted before. you can really taste the flower.

after crunching and munching of flowers the Main Course was served its a chicken with pesto fettuccine, whole wheat bread, meat viand in sake, red rice with herbs and honey. i could not say anything negative on this as everything is served perfectly! The gourmet's presentation is superb!

while my Aunt's ordered a Salmon partnered with toasted capers, i tasted it too and i would say the same, its terrific!

We ended the Meal with a delicious dessert, Oatmeal Cake accompanied by ginger drink with ginseng.

The table arrangement is impressive,

you are lucky if Ms.Eve is there as you will recieve a few mins of tutoring on healthy foods, while she explains each course. the view from our sit is breath taking, looking down on the lush greenery of the forests.

After enjoying a little chit-chat with the Owner we were given permission to take a look on their garden, it was a beautiful sight, seeing all the Lettuce freshly grown in healthy soil beds, i wouldnt advice it tho to people who are suffering from leg pains as its a long climb going back to the top. :)

Note: You should contact the restaurant a week before eating there, its not a walk-in restaurant.

Forest House Review

Forest House

Lets talk about the ambience first, it was Good! no doubt, but it was a bit over done, sunflower adourned the walls with lots of Floral designs everywhere. The music was soft, perfect for a fine dining place, but the inhouse band should tone the Volume a little bit lower so that the place wont feel like your inside a Pub, its totally conflicting with the fine dining experience.Guests sounded like they are shouting at each other as the Volume is too Loud!

Lets go down to the food, The Menu is well arranged, you can read what each meal contains.

The table is well arranged

The Gourmet and its presentation is what impressed me the most! it was superb! i took on the apetizer first it was a Shrimp Gambas, it has mushrooms and brocolli.

Then the Entre was served, Its a Sesame Crusted Fish Fillet, the presentation was okey but not that Good as the plate looks crowded and i see droplets of some sauce on the sides, it should have been wiped.

the next entre is a Sauteed Shrimp Brocolli with Mushrooms the presentation and taste was very good!

Finally my order which is the  Baked Chicken Thigh served with mash potatoes.. . the Chicken is well done, the brocolli is perfectly cooked just the way it is. it met all my expectation.

The Waiters Uniform was perfectly designed, it completely matches the restaurants theme of a fine dining.
I luckily got a glimpse of the Chef's Outfit and it was also nice.. but the skull cap is kinda wierd.

There is a limited parking space, so your lucky if theres only 3 cars parked infront of the restaurant.

Enjoy your meal!

Budget is 400-500 per person

O' Mai Khan Review

Rainy day! auntie was thinking of a place to eat such as the shabu shabu or the prince plaza hotel, but the decision came down to O'Mai Khan, an authentic Mongolian cuisine restaurant.

The place has a beautiful Ambience and a unique architechtural design(They are moving by May 2011 to a new Location).

They have this famous and best selling called the Mongolian Barbecue where you chose from different kinds of vegetables and 4 kinds of meat and 18 sauces to be cooked by the chef,

Theres one more thing to this Mongolian stuff, its Unlimited! you can go back as many times as you like as long as you finish it off!
Heres auntie picking her choice of vegetables to be cooked

According to the staff the person who went back the most reached up to 8 servings! beat that! i only lasted 3 tho and i felt so full! i first took to the platform of the meat, i asked for liver, chicken, pork and beef all together in the bowl, i then took my choice of vegetables.

i was being tutored by my aunt on which sauce to put as i dont have much knowledge on how it would taste if i place all the sauce i want,

mentioning some are oyster sauce, curry sauce, sweet and sour sauce, vinegar, soy, garlic sauce and many more. you then give the bowl to the waitress and the waitress will hand it over to the chef, the chef would cook it , you can enjoy watching while he cooks your choice of vegetables and sauces, because his inside a glass cubicle.

after eating all that you can Choose a dessert from a cooler located near the entrance, Displaying different varieties of cakes.

Bon Appetit Guys! :)

Budget per person, (If your having Mongolian) its 200-250 Php

Baguio Country Club Breakfast Buffet Review

Got invited to watch the Fil-Am golf tournament at Baguio Country Club, one of the most exclusive golf club hotels in the Philippines

While watching we started to digg in on the breakfast buffet. the foods were all freshly cooked, a mix of european, american and ethnic dishes are on the tables.

The Appetizers,Entre and Dessert are neatly organized.

Attentive waiters are always ready to assist you on anything.

I tasted almost all of the dishes served on the Buffet table, including all the freshly squeezed seasonal fruits that is unlimited! i personally adored the Salmonized Tuna, belgian Waffles and Freshly baked australian beef

Here i picked the salmonized tuna and Bacon with a piece of bread(The peaches are on the backrgound)

While for the drinks its the ripe mango shakes that top the list. we finished the brunch with a bundle of peaches, melon, apples and water melons. all in all it was a great breakfast!
Being a member in country club gives you a lot of benefits from big discounts in rooms to sure accomodation everytime you visit the city, Plus the ever delicious Breakfast,Lunch and Dinner! membership usually costs more than a Million Php but sometimes they have this Promo stuff where in it drops to 300k to 400k it rarely happens tho.

Gheckos Review

We decided to have dinner in Gheckos this time formerly Euro Swiss a european themed restaurant.

The Location is very much accessible located in the heart of baguio city
The ambience is unique but the temperature is not controlled,

Beautiful paintings adourned the wall with soft lighting adding more cozzyness to the place.

i checked on the menu, theres a lot of european sausages being offered, but to differ i ordered the famous Extra Large burger but then the waitress told me its not available at the moment so i just ordered the
"Good ol Gheckos Burger"  the meat is larger than the buns which made it extra ordinary, plus it taste a lot better than fast food burgers which would leave you sattisfied and full upon finishing it up

My Aunts whose a usual companion when it comes to eating out, ordered the Spanish Tortilla Omelette which goes with a bread and coffee. The omelete is thick and properly cooked, the sauce which is made out of natural tomatoes just added more flavour to this dish

Another order is the French Toast with Bacon served with a poached egg, the french toast is filled with chocolate syrup on top best while served hot! it goes with a delicious bacons and a poached egg.

With so many people drinking beers at night i suggest going there for Breakfast and lunch or early dinner around 5pm as to avoid the smoking and drunk costumers.

Budget per person 250-300 Php
